Sedation

him: do you even know how it feels to wait day after day for something that you know that it's not gonna happen?

if you thought that this drawing talks about cigarettes being a sedation, we got off on the wrong start. this drawing talks about wishful thinking. personally, throughout the past year, I've been often accused (or charged) with wishful thinking.  and frankly, I believe that I'm only a presentation of allot of cases, because, in the end, what most (if not all) of our ambitions, hopes and dreams sums up to is wishful thinking. and through wishful thinking we tend to ignore evidence, clues, or sometimes even reality in order to preserve our high hopes of the world. we'd end up spending days, weeks, months, years and even at times decades on nothing but ashes, thus the hand ashing the cigarettes in the hourglass.
whether wishful thinking is bad or good really, I'm still until this moment unsure how to judge it. I'd like to hear your opinions about the subject.

used a picture of my hand as a reference for the hand (that moment when realise that your hand is too weird to be drawn, mom said my hand looks like a man's hand x) ) plus some random google pics for cigarettes and hourglasses as a little study.
